I was really young when I started receiving friend requests on social media. I ignored the ones I didn't know but this one request came from a classmate. I accepted, thinking it was just a friendly interaction, but it was worse than I could have imagined.
He started sending me lewd images and saying disgusting things. He would harass me, telling me the most horrible and degrading things about myself.
I was only 10 at the time and assumed it would have just stopped as I would be leaving that particular school the next year, but I was wrong.
Even after blocking him, he continued making accounts under different names, continuing to harass me for my entire teenage life. This deeply affected me, and up to this day, I suffer the trauma of his abuse. When I finally got the strength to say something and try to make it stop… he wasn’t even punished. I don’t think he even cared how his actions impacted myself and others. Yes, others. I found out I wasn’t the only girl he was doing this too.
