Created awareness about different career choices and professional opportunities for women 3. Enhanced professional, personal and networking skills 4. The Mentorship Programme was launched after the seminar to assist Muslim females with making decisions about their education and career paths. The programme is opened to all Muslim females in Barbados and pairs girls with another Muslim female who has experience or qualifications in an area of study similar to that of the participant. In the event that there is no mentor in a specific field of interest, the participant will be paired with the second most suitable mentor.
The mentor’s role is to: • offer advice on subject selection • recommend learning institutions/ opportunities to gain qualifications in field of interest • suggest alternative options or modes of study if required • review applications or entrance essays • liaise with participant throughout her studies to offer any assistance or advice
